Nick's Birthday!

Nick turned three!  It was pretty fun amping him up about his birthday, talking about what kind of cake he wanted and a party etc etc.  Mostly he was excited to have a party, and when asked what he wanted for his birthday he said simply: "people".  Mr. Social.

His birthday cake was decreed to be a "monster truck with dinosaurs and lava and lollipops on it" (I think the lava and dinosaurs was influenced by Tobin).  But we had to settle for a plain superawesome monster truck cake.  He was SO excited to have a monster truck cake, however rudimentary.

yes, ladies, it's my birfday

ffffffocusssss.....

According to Nick, he was 2 and a half until we had cake.  Then he was three.

Drum-HELL-er

So I've always wanted to go to Drumheller, and since Tobin has become OBSESSED with anything to do with dinosaurs, lava, volcanoes and fire-bombs I thought we should just pony up and get out there.

What I didn't realize is that Drumheller lies roughly 30,000km from Revelstoke, through a time-space continuum, beyond which the apocalypse has occured.  Alberta in April is really, really depressing.  I can't vouch for how it looks at the other times of year.  But April seemed particularly suicide invoking.

The museum itself was really incredible, and mostly worth the soul sucking drive.  Anyway, enough moaning and here are some pics.

Hard to believe, but you can climb right up into this T. Rex, and feel it swaying in the wind.  Just ask Ann-Marie how awesome that was.

In the mouth of the T Rex.  Tobin's first words when he got up here were "Thomas is never going to believe this."

The only cyclists in Alberta. For realz.

Onto the museum!

Yeah, T-rex, you're scary.  But you've got those tiny, funny little arms, so I can't take you seriously.

Three hours of supermassiveawesometrexankylosaurus is exhausting

Haha, gotcha!

Wow, I can't believe how many people I tricked with that last blog post!  I keep hearing "so I heard a rumour..." reports.

It's incredibly satisfying to generate a false rumour and watch it take off!

Medicine Hat!

Looks like we're going to be spending some time in Alberta.  Ann-Marie just got a job in Medicine Hat!  We probably won't stay there for more than a year, but we'll see how it goes.

We'll keep you posted...
