Great Grandma Gill

Took Tobin down to meet his 97 year old Great-Grandmother. She was so pleased to hold him and recount her own stories of having twins herself. She fussed and arranged him so he was just right on her lap. The photos say it all, he was pretty relaxed with her!
It's amazing to think about the changes she's seen in her 97 years, and to think of those things that Tobin will take for granted in his lifetime. Things like: the first motorized flight in 1903, 7 years before she was born; the invention of antibiotics (1928); and the Ford model T had been in production for just two years when she was born!

Settling in at home...

Trying to not go too crazy with the camera, but damn it's hard to not take photos all the time!

A Boy!!!

Tobin Gill arrived February 14 at 1:14am, 7lbs 2oz. Ann-Marie's water broke at about 9:30pm with labor starting about 15 minutes later. Within about 30 minutes the contractions were coming every five minutes; about an hour later they were insistent, nonstop with one starting immediately after the previous one subsided, a continuous wave of contractions! At about 12:45 she was fully dilated and ready to start pushing. Fortunately Hillary, our doctor, decided to stay nearby throughout and was amazing with her support and encouragement. After about four contractions the baby needed to come out fast so Ann-Marie put the hammer down and pushed him out almost between contractions! What a crazy event!!!! Very mammalian.
Ann-Marie was amazing, tough and ready to get the job done, no complaining (unlike me who would have been weeping on the floor if I had to go through that... okay so I was weeping but that was later).
So now we're home and trying to figure it all out, luckily we have such amazing friends and family that we won't have to cook or clean for quite awhile!
Anyway, here are some pics, more to follow.

Sunny and Stable

No pics of AMG but a few of a ski day for me today. Long day, with my usual long day partner, Troy. Lots of vertical and lots of walking! Good touring but lousy skiing.

Hey, wash your hair!
